Where to Register?

Registration of a boat is a crucial aspect of yacht ownership as the Registry provides proof of ownership, it offers the security of mortgages to the Banks and to a potential buyer, it confirms that the boat is free from any encumbrances.

Each flag state has it’s own regulations offering various advantages and disadvantages depending on a specific situation. Weisz-Offshore can assist you identify the flag that would best suits your requirements. We submit and follow up your application with the registry.

There are many flags available for boat owners and the registration process is quite similar for all of them, but the features each flag has to offer can be very different from one jurisdiction to another.

How long does it take to register a yacht?

Registration varies according to the ownership structure, the flag of registry, the type and location of the vessel and the type of registration required.

As an indication, pleasure vessels can normally be registered 3 working days and in 3 weeks for commercial yachts and ships.

Cost vary according to the type of vessel, ownership structure, flag of registry.

Registration of a Pleasure Vessel: $1,200.00
Registration of a Commercial Vessel: $2,250.00
Corporate Ownership from: $1,700.00 (first year)
$1,300.00 (subsequent year fees)
Statutory Management from: $2,250.00 per annum
